Botanical Name: Prunus domestica
Description: Wood from the Plum tree is fine-grained and lustrous and has been used in the solid for many years for high quality cabinet work. The colour is usually reddish-brown, often with lighter or darker streaks, sometimes with a suggestion of violet. The logs are normally small, mostly under panel length and not often converted into veneer as there is little commercial demand. However, for special furniture or detail work this attractive veneer should not be overlooked.
